Kathryn S. Dennis

Kathryn S. Dennis, 90, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Iron River Care Center. She was born on August 5, 1934, in Crystal Falls, MI, the daughter of the late John and Pearl (Salmi) Takala. She attended the Crystal Falls schools, graduating with the Class of 1952. She obtained her LPN license in the Summer of 1979. Kathryn married Leo Dennis on May 7, 1955, in Crystal Falls. The couple celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary in 1976. Leo preceded her in death on April 23, 1977. She was an LPN at the Iron River Care Center. Kathryn was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Iron River and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cribbage, going for rides, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Kathryn is survived by her sons, Alan (Lisa Carlson) Dennis and Mark (Barb) Dennis, both of Iron River, MI; brother, Richard Takala of Crystal Falls, MI; sisters, Alice Jarvis of Kingsford, MI and Betty McCole of Channing, MI; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
