Kenneth O. Mitchell

Kenneth O. Mitchell Age 92 Iron River, MI Passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Iron River Care Center. He was born April 30, 1920 in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the late William C. and Elizabeth (Karvala) Mitchell. He attended the Iron River Schools, graduating from Iron River High School in 1938. He was a U.S Navy Veteran of WWII, honorably discharged in February, 1946. Kenneth married the former Doris G. Damberg on May 30, 1940 in Escanaba, MI. The couple resided in Bates Township until moving to Ann Arbor in 1969. He was employed as Maintenance Supervisor at the University of Michigan, retiring in 1983. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1990. Kenneth enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage. He was preceded in death by his wife , Doris on May 7, 1999, brother, William Mitchell and sister, Dorothy Parkins. He is survived by his son, William (Diane) Mitchell of Hancock, MI Daughters; Karen (Robert) Slevoski of Marion, MI Lynne (Edward) Hookstadt of Camarillo, CA Seven grandchildren Ten great grandchildren Private family services will be held.
