Kenneth “Ken” H. White, age 91, of Iron River, MI, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Iron River Care Center. He was born February 13, 1925 in Iron River, MI, the son of the late Thomas J. and Martha J. (Tremayne) White. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from August 1945 to March of 1947, and was awarded the Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal, Germany. He was employed as a carpenter by Inland Steel for over 35 years. Ken married the former Ellen J. Pollock on September 16, 1950 at the Wesley United Methodist Church of Iron River, and the couple made their home in Iron River. Ellen preceded him in death on October 23, 2003. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Iron River. He enjoyed traveling in his RV, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, and crafting. Ken is survived by his son, William “ Bill” White of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, David White Jr., and Danielle (Aaron) Young; great granddaughter Monique; sister, Gloras White of Iron River; nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was also preceded in death by his son, David on June 8, 1999, and grandson, Dean White. In accordance with Ken’s wishes, no services will be held. Interment will be in Iron River City Cemetery.
