Keri J. Nordstrom

Keri J. Nordstrom, age 44, of Iron River, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. She was born October 7, 1972 in Marquette, MI, the daughter of Sally and Robert Peterson. She attended the West Iron County Schools, graduating with the Class of 1991. She then went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Education at Northern Michigan University. Keri married Donald “Don” Nordstrom on August 16, 1997 in Stambaugh Township. The couple celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary last year. She was employed as a pre-school teacher, and enjoyed reading, music and following celebrities. She also especially loved spending time with her daughters and family. Keri is survived by her husband, Don; daughters, Paige Elizabeth and Leah Patricia; mother, Sally Helgeson; father, Robert (Lynn) Peterson, all of Iron River; sister, Kimberly Peterson-Dool of Barrington, IL; maternal grandmother, Helyne Burns; as well as extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her step-father, John Helgeson and her uncle, Larry Barinotti. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the U.P.
