Kristin Graves

Kristin Graves, age 68, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility from complications of Covid-19. She was the daughter of Lorraine Meinhardt and the late John Graves. Kristin was born on January 20, 1952 at the Stambaugh Hospital. In 1963 she, her mother, and brother, Raymond, moved to Madison, WI, where she graduated from Madison East High School in 1970. Kristin then attended Madison Area Technical College and became an operating room technician. She was employed at UW Madison Hospital for 32 years. Kristin enjoyed her retirement years, but also enjoyed her many working years. She had a close and loving relationship with her family, which included many fishing trips with her uncle, Clifford. Her hobbies included knitting, playing Scrabble and bocce, working jigsaw puzzles, gardening, and watching the Green Bay Packers. She was an excellent cook and loved her cats, Leo and Daisy. She was a member of the Iron County, Michigan Genealogical Society and had been a volunteer in the Archives at the Iron County Museum in Caspian, MI. Kristin is survived by her mother, Lorraine Meinhardt of Iron River, MI; her brother, Raymond Graves of Iron River, MI; cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mabel and Alex Carlson and Edith and John Graves and uncles, Walter, Theron, and Clifford Carlson and Gordon and Raymond Graves. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kristin’s name to the Northwoods Animal Shelter, 930 Selden Rd, Iron River, MI 49935.
