Larry R. Halada

Larry R. Halada, age 70, of Long Lake, WI, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at his home. He was born December 3, 1947 in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the late Jack and Grace (LaBine) Halada.   He attended the Florence Schools, graduating with the Class of 1966. Larry married Linda Burbey on August 24, 1966 in Iron River, MI. The couple celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary late this past summer. He was a self-employed logger for 40 years. Larry was also an iron worker, mink rancher, and sawmill owner. He enjoyed logging, hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with family. Larry served on the Florence County Board for 11 years. Larry is survived by his wife Linda; sons, Stewart (Kim) Halada of Elkhorn, WI, Chance (Stephanie) Halada of Eagle River, WI, and Cade (Ashley) Halada of Rhinelander, WI; sisters, Geraldine (Wayne) Pagel of Green Bay, WI and Gracie (Dan) Hannigan of Menominee, MI; sisters-in-law, Cyndy Halada, Esther Nowak, and Jennifer (Jerry) Burkett; grandchildren, Blade, Anthony, Dominic, Aspen, Teagan, Charlotte, Eliza, and Cash Halada; extended family and friends.   In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Jacqueline Halada, Marlene Carmitchell, and infant sister, Francis Halada; brother, John Halada and infant brother, Allen Halada. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 10:30 am to 12 noon at the Jacobs Funeral of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 12 pm.
