Laurina Fittante

Laurina ""Laura"" Fittante, age 76 of Caspian, MI, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Marquette General Hospital, Marquette, MI. She was born March 29, 1933 in Zagarise, Cantanzaro, Italy, the daughter of the late Antonio and Rosina Marino. Laura married Louis A. Fittante on October 20, 1956 in Zagarise, Italy, and the couple moved to the United States in 1957, making their home in Caspian, MI. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in 1996. Louis preceded her in death on March 25, 1997. She was a homemaker and was employed with Family Foods for 16 years in the bakery department. Laura was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian and St. Ann's Society. She enjoyed baking, gardening and crocheting. She had a passion for serving God, family, and friends. No one ever left hungry. Mangia! She is survived by her daughter, Annette (Duane) Zeeb of Pensacola, FL Two sons; Anthony (Melody) Fittante of Iron River Samuel L. Fittante of Findlay, OH Three sisters; Marianna, Maraosa and Maria in Italy In-laws; Joseph (Kathy) Fittante Sam (Mary) Fittante Mary (Jack) Jacobson Angeline Canale Nieces, nephews and extended family Visitation: Sunday, April 4, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. A Liturgical Prayer Service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service: Monday, April 5, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian, with Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The ladies of St. Ann's Society will form an honor guard at the service.
