Lila Mae Culver

Lila Mae Culver, age 88, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. She was born on October 5, 1935, in Tipler, WI, the daughter of the late Joseph and Myrtle (Graves) Brabank. Lila loved woodworking, knitting, crocheting, jewelry making, and many other crafts, gardening, and hiking. She especially loved raising her family and spending time with them. Lila is survived by her sons, Chester (Judy) Swenski, Edward (Charlene) Swenski, Vernon (April) Carlson, and Lee Carlson; daughters, MaryAnn (Jesse) Pietro and Nora Mae (Thomas) Kneebone; brothers, David and Joe; sister, Barbara; many grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; extended family, and friends. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Chester John Swenski Sr., Vernon Carlson Sr., and Dean Culver; brothers, Raymond and Larry; sisters, Mary, Ione, and Kathleen; sons, Harold Robert “Mickey” Carlson and Anthony Swenski; and grandson, Chester John Swenski Jr. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River with Fr. Daniel Fosu to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
