Lila M. Kosky

Lila M. Kosky, age 91, lifelong resident of Iron River, MI, went home to her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. She was born on January 9, 1929 in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Nick and Helvi (Maki) Syynimaa. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the Class of 1947. Lila married Jalo Wilhart Kosky on September 11, 1948 in Marquette, MI. The couple made their home in Iron River and celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in 2000. Jalo preceded her in death on October 23, 2000. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Red Hat Ladies, and the WELCA group at church. Lila enjoyed reading, knitting, and word searches. She devoted her life to raising her family. Lila is survived by her daughter Candace (George) Schoessow of Wausau, WI; son, Randy (Liz) Kosky of Bethel Park, PA; grandchildren, Krista (Matt) Weiler, Kyle (Jamie) Schoessow, Jason (Colleen) Kosky, and Jenna (Grant) Swisher; great grandchildren, Emma and Ellis Schoessow, Aubree Weiler, Jalo and Evelyn Kosky, and Finley Swisher; extended family and friends. Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery.
