Lila L. Sadino, age 90, of Iron River, MI, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014. She was born January 30, 1924 in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Edward and Melvine (Teaffault) Nasser, and was a lifelong resident of the area. She attended the Iron River Schools graduating from Iron River High School with the Class of 1941. Lila worked for her father Edward Nasser in his restaurant. She married Stanley A. Sadino August 4, 1948 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River and the couple made their home in Stambaugh, MI. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in 2006. Stanley preceded her in death May 13, 2007. Lila and her husband owned and operated Sadino Grocery in Stambaugh for over 30 years retiring in 1978. They also owned and operated the Laundromat, in Iron River and Stambaugh and the Laundromat and Car Wash in Crystal Falls for many years. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, St. Ann’s Society, and the Daughters of Isabella, where she served as Past Regent and Secretary. She is survived by her sons, Tony (Sherri) Sadino of White Fish, MT, and James (Marilyn) Sadino of Iron River; daughters, Marianne (Sam) Harris of Fond Du Lac, WI, Cathy (Bob) Whitfield of Sauk Rapids, MN, and Theresa (Michael) Waite of Almont, MI; brother, Tom (Nancy) Nasser of Crystal Falls, MI; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward Nasser and sister, Betsy Brey. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian with Rev. Gregory Veneklase, Pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The ladies of St. Ann’s Society will form an Honor Guard at the service. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River.
