Lillian F. Tschury

Lillian F. Tschury, 98, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. Lillian was born on June 27, 1926, in Sidnaw, MI, the daughter of the late Thomas and Betty (Chapman) Dentel. She attended schools in Sidnaw and Kenton, graduating from the Trout Creek High School with the Class of 1945. On June 1, 1946, she married Gordon Tschury in Sidnaw and the couple moved to Iron River in 1952. Gordon preceded her in death February 21, 1998. She was employed as a Nurses’ Aide at the Iron County Medical Care Facility for many years, retiring in 1990. In the year 2000, Lillian and Merlyn Ehlinger were united in a marriage ceremony out West and had many wonderful years together before his passing on July 26, 2019. She attended the First Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries and Women’s Aglow. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, taking care of her home and being a mother were very important to her and had many children that considered her their mother. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Nancy Lynn Tschury; grandson, Rick (Robin) Wierikko and their children, Chelsea Boelke and Christopher Popilo; granddaughter, Shelli Baker and her children, Sable, Cher, and Sonny Baker; great-great-granddaughter, Elliot; stepchildren, Joe Ehlinger, Karen Otto, Nan (Mike) Borske – all of Iron River, Donna (Kim) Hibbard of Ishpeming, MI, and Judy (Dale) Bosk of Crystal Falls, MI; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; also very loved by her nieces and nephew, Betty Dentel, who helped care for her, Fran Dentel, Debbie Tschury, and David Tschury; extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas (Karoll) Dentel. Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Sidnaw Cemetery.
