Lois A. Autio Garavet, age 75, of Iron River, MI, passed away passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at home. She was born July 14, 1939 in Crystal Falls, MI, the daughter of the late Towner and Esther (Johnson) Autio. She attended the Crystal Falls Schools, graduating from Forest Park High School with the Class of 1957 Lois married James “Bucky” Garavet on August 31, 1957, and the couple celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in 2014. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Iron River, Charter member of Christ the Servant of Waukesha, WI, and member of the Red Hats of McAllen, TX. She was a very skilled crafter and did crocheting, knitting and painting. An avid reader, she also enjoyed concerts and camping. Lois is survived by her husband, James “Bucky”; son, Greg (Sherry Garavet; daughter, Lisa Garavet; daughter-in-law, Blanca Garavet; brother, Wayne Autio; grandchildren, J.C. (Abby) Garavet, Brandon (Angie) Garavet, Amanda Garavet, Zach Garavet, Nick Garavet, Kailey Garavet, and Marcus Baumler; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family, Brian and Pam Autio, Gene and Susan Autio, Karen Lechert, Donna and Bob VanSickle, Roy Foucault, Johnny Jay Foucault, Susie Fleming, and Paul and Carol Foucault. She was also preceded in death by her son, James Garavet II; brother, Ray Autio; sister, Nancy Hansen; brother-in law, Ruben Hansen; sister-in-law, Betty Autio. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Iron River.
