Lois M. Vargovich

Lois M. Vargovich, 74, of Gaastra, MI, passed away October 5, 2014 in Milwaukee, WI surrounded by family. She was born January 28, 1940 in Gaastra, the daughter of the late Clifford and Clarissa (Hatfield) Clements. She attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating with the Class of 1958. Lois worked in Park and Recreation for Iron County. Lois married Joseph Vargovich on June 20, 1959 in Gaastra, where the couple made their home. She loved spending time with her husband, who was her best friend for 55 years. Lois especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. She also enjoyed working in her garden, reading, working puzzles, knitting and crocheting. Lois is survived by her husband, Joseph; daughters, Renee (Larry) Graves and Vicky Vargovich both of Gaastra, and Sheila (Mike) Nantelle of Escanaba, MI; brother, Dale (Sue) Clements of Gaastra; sisters, Noreen Hansen and Denise (Dave) Roberts both of Gaastra; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family. Lois was preceded in death by two great grandchildren. Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River with Rev.
