Loren R. Olson

Loren R. Olson, age 70, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born on August 3, 1949 in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the late Clarence and Doris (Lee) Olson. He attended the Stambaugh Schools and graduated with the Class of 1968.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972. Loren married Nancy Butorac on August 31, 1975 at St Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian, MI.  The couple celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary in 2019.  He was employed at West Iron County Schools for 30 years as a jack of all trades.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on his guns. Loren is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Jason (Melissa) Olson of Iron River, MI; daughter, Angie (Scott Douglas) Olson of Iron River, MI; four grandchildren, LeRoy, Chaselynn, Ellianna, and Rayne Olson; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  He was also preceded in death by his infant son, John; brother, Wayne Olson; sister, Sharon Johnson and infant sister, Judith Olson.  A Celebration of Life will be held on February 1, 2020 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Beechwood Hall.
