Lori K. Claar

Lori K. Claar, of Phelps, WI, passed away on March 31st, 2026, peacefully at the Iron River Care Center.

She was born on February 29, 1956, in Chippewa Falls, WI, the daughter of Douglas and Marilyn (LeMay) Follensbee. Lori graduated from Wilmot High School with the class of 1974 and went on to earn her nursing certification from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1977. Lori married Dru Claar Sr. on April 12, 1980, at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI.

Nursing was more than a career for Lori—it was a reflection of who she was. She was a devoted advocate for her patients and took great pride in providing truly exceptional care. Outside of work, Lori found joy in life’s simple pleasures: time spent with her German Shepherds, days on the water fishing, browsing antiques, singing, and, most of all, being with her family.

Lori is survived by her husband, Dru Claar of Phelps, WI; her sons, Dru (Mollie Bodin) Claar Jr. of Saline, MI, and Jeremy Claar of Sun Prairie, WI; her grandchildren, Abigail and Eliza; her mother, Marilyn (Bob) Follensbee; her sisters, Terry (Bill) Follensbee and Mary Follensbee; her brothers, Douglas (Katie) Follensbee Jr., Gregory (Penny) Follensbee, and George (Sue) Follensbee; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Follensbee.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date and time to be determined.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Shelly and the care team at Iron River Care Center in Iron River, MI, for their compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Lori’s memory.
