Lorraine S. Bociek

Lorraine S. Bociek, age 95, of Iron River, MI, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility. She was born April 8, 1919 in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late John and Frances (Formolo) Nocerini. She attended the Iron River Schools and graduated. Lorraine married Joseph “Joe” M. Bociek on August 26, 1939 at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in 1999. Joe preceded her in death on February 6, 1999. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, traveling, and watching her grandchildren play sports. Lorraine is survived by her son, Leonard (Pam) Bociek of Iron River; daughters, Frances (John) Kane of Savannah, GA, Jackie (Jim) Leppla of Appleton, WI, and Marge (Larry) VanDyke of Lansing, MI; brother, James (Donna) Nocerini of Crystal Falls, MI; sister, Dorothy Flora of Fairbanks, AK; brother-in-law, Russell Seagrave of Ashville, NC; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard and Sylvester Nocerini, and sister, Cotilda Seagrave. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. in the Little Flower Room at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gregory Veneklase, Pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.   Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery in the spring.
