Louise Tousignant

Louise Tousignant, age 95, of Iron River, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the UP Health System in Marquette, MI. She was born December 16, 1921 in Iron Mountain, MI, the daughter of the late Constantino and Filomena (Pelligrini) Occhietti. She attended the Iron Mountain Schools. Louise married Bernard J. Tousignant on July 12, 1941 in Wauwatosa, WI, and the couple celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in 1990. Bernard preceded her in death on October 4, 1990. She enjoyed traveling and working on craft projects and loved spending time with her family. Louise is survived by her son, Mark (Jody) Tousignant of Iron River; daughters, Karen Boettcher of Jasper, GA, and Kay (Edward) Rottinger of Chicago, IL; sister, Edith Weiss, of Iron Mountain, MI; daughter-in-law, Maureen Tousignant of Chicago, IL; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dale Tousignant and two brothers and five sisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
