Luella M. Ambach, 91, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, MI.
She was born on July 6, 1934, in Caspian, MI, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Emma M. (Williams) Jeffers, Sr. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating from Iron River High School with the Class of 1952. Luella married Edward J. Ambach on October 12, 1957, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian, MI and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in 2016. Edward preceded her in death on December 8, 2016.
Luella was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, St. Agnes Altar Society, and the Rosary Sodality. She was an accomplished organist, and served as organist at St. Agnes Catholic Church for many years.
Luella is survived by her brother, Lawrence Jeffers Jr. of Iron River, MI; nephews, Rickie (Diane) Jeffers and Robert Jeffers; great nephew, Steve Jeffers; great nieces, Melissa Jeffers and Emma (Derrick McLean) Mathison; and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her niece, Suzanne Mathison and sister-in-law, Molly Jeffers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 17, 2025, at noon at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, with Rev. Daniel Fosu and Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery.
