Lyle Hodgson

Lyle W. Hodgson Age 83 Long Lake, WI died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Northstar Health System, Iron River, MI. Born: December 5, 1927 in Long Lake, WI The son of the late Lester and Myrtle (Egen) Hodgson attended the Long Lake Schools. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Lyle married the former Frances Nowak on June 11, 1955 in Laona, WI and the couple made their home in Long Lake. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2005. He was first employed by Burby & Brooks Lumber Company and later owned and operated Lyle Hodgson Trucking Company for many years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Community Bible Church of Long Lake. He liked to tell jokes and play card tricks with the grandkids. He also played baseball for the Iron River Red Legs and was a very good fast pitch soft ball pitcher. He looked forward to snow plowing in the winter. He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Ellen Henning. He is survived by his wife, Frances Two sons, William (Sandy) Hodgson of Long Lake Stephen (Tammy) Hodgson of Green Bay, WI Two daughters, Ellen Hodgson of Ashland, WI Mary (Mike) Hanson of Eagle River, WI Eleven grandchildren; Jason, Jenny, Matthew, Kobe, Brett, Myranda, Stephen Jr., Myriah, Kristen, Kyle, and Kolten Five great grandchildren Many nieces nephews and extended family Visitation: Friday December 17, 2010 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Long Lake Community Bible Church. Funeral Service: Friday December 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Long Lake Community Bible Church with Pastor Chad Williams, Pastor Curtis Lamansky and Pastor Trevor Gearhart to officiate.The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the service.
