Mabel A. Starkweather

Mabel A. Starkweather, age 74, of Iron River, MI, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at her home.She was born June 18, 1939 in Virginia, the daughter of the late Orear and Myrtle (Sexton) Harrington. Mabel married Keith Starkweather on April 10, 1954. Keith preceded her in death.Mabel was a member of the Lakeland Baptist Church of Iron River. She enjoyed crocheting, shopping, and spending time with her family.Mabel is survived by her sons, Pastor Paul (Joann) Starkweather of Iron River, Donald (Heather) Starkweather of South Carolina, Joseph (Nancy) Starkweather of Florida, and Keith (Carol) Starkweather Jr. of Iowa; sisters, Ozella Swift, Rita (Wayne) Jennings, and Mattie Goodnight, all of Virginia; eight grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family.She was also preceded in death by her son, Steven, brother, Gerald Harrington, and sisters, Virginia Adams and Shirley Bobst.Visitation will be held Monday, May 5, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Lakeland Baptist Church of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at Lakeland Baptist Church, with Pastor Paul Starkweather to officiate. Memorial contributions to the family may be sent in care of Jacobs Funeral Home, 405 W.
