Mabel Vidas

Mabel Arcand Vidas, age 94, of Iron River, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, MI. She was born on February 5, 1928, in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of the late John and Stella (Hahn) Stebic. She attended the Crystal Falls Schools, graduating with the Class of 1946. Mabel married Edward Vidas, together residing on Sunset Lake. They celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary in 2011 and Edward preceded her in death on March 24, 2012. Mabel was employed at the Iron County Medical Care Facility for 28 years. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River. Mabel loved spending time at Sunset Lake. She was preceded in death by her sons, John and David Arcand; brothers, John and Joseph Stebic; and sisters, Lillian, Rose, June, and Mary. She is survived by her daughter, Claudia (Geron) Verville; daughter-in-law, Mary Arcand of Crystal Falls, MI; stepdaughters, Cheryl (Danny) Byczek and Faye (Mike) Porier, both of Iron River, MI; sisters, Eva, Gladys, Joan, Nellie, and Donna; sister-in-law, Eileen Stebic of Crystal Falls, MI; seven grandchildren, Teri Verville, Lisa (Patrick Moore) Verville, Stephen Verville, Craig (Dana) Arcand, Christi (Sean) Raphael, Jeanette Schornack, Kelly Brower; many great grandchildren; many great great grandchild; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Fosu to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
