Marcille J. Hooper, age 80, of Iron River, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 surrounded by her family. Marcille was born June 9, 1933 in Stambaugh, the daughter of late Enoch and Clara (Johnson) Routhoux. She attended Cedar Lake Academy in Cedar Lake, MI. Marcille married William Hooper on October 14, 1950 in Stambaugh and made their home in the area. The couple celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary last year. Marcille was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a kind, loving caregiver for the family, raising not only her children, but also her two eldest granddaughters, Tammy (Mark) LaDuron of Milwaukee, WI, and Dannilynn McCoy (Craig) Nance) of Merrill, WI. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen, brothers, Wallace, Homer, Kenneth, Donald, and Irving, and her sisters, Alice Helgemo, Irene Lambert, Mildred Richards, and Esther Reitmeyer. She is survived by her husband, William; son, Gary Hooper of Iron Mountain, MI; daughters, Billie Jo (John Machus) Hooper of Kingsford, MI, Rhonda Donaldson of Fond du Lac, WI; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family. Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Bates Township Cemetery, Iron River. Funeral arrangements by the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River.
