Margaret P. Gendron

Margaret P. Gendron, age 83, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at her home. She was born July 11, 1934 in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Wallace and Mary (White) Varney. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the Class of 1952. Margaret married David Gendron on September 27, 1952 at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River and made their home in Stambaugh Township. The couple celebrated 61 wonderful years together, before David’s passing on November 13, 2013. She was employed at Coleman Products for 13 years.  Margaret was a devout Catholic and member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.  She enjoyed feeding the birds and watching the wildlife in her backyard. Margaret is survived by her sons, Patrick (Susan Surendonk) Gendron of Appleton, WI, and David Pierre (Sally) Gendron of Coon Rapids, MN; grandchildren, Christi (Scott Pletcher) Gendron of Ann Arbor, MI, and Carrie Gendron of Ramsey, MN; great grandsons, Matthew and Austin of Ann Arbor, MI; brother, Robert (Carol) Varney of Jackson, MI; sister, Patricia (Bill) Karvala of California and Iron River, MI; sister-in-law, Joan Varney of Iron River, MI; nieces, nephews, and extended family.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, William and Wallace Varney.  Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 10:30 am to 12:15 pm at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.  Funeral services will follow at 12:30 pm at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev.
