Margaret E. Gill

Margaret E. Gill, age 69, of Iron River, MI, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Northstar Health System, Iron River. She was born December 12, 1944 in Phelps, WI, the daughter of the late Archie and Anna Mae (Reed) Lincoln. She attended the Phelps and West Iron County Schools and graduated in 1994 with her son Dan. Margaret married Roger Gill on June 18, 1971 in Iron River, and the couple made their home in Bates Township. They celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary in 2013. Margaret was employed as a CNA at the Iron River Care Center and later worked in the laundry, retiring ten years ago. She loved crafting and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Margaret is survived by her husband, Roger; sons, Glen (Ioneta) Gill of Marion, OH, Darrin (Andrea) Gill of Gaastra, and Dan Gill of Iron River; daughters, Carrie (John) Nelson of Iron River, Lorraine Gray of Pickford, MI, Connie Battye of Gaastra, Candie Devore of Iron River, and Joan Hansen of Crystal Falls; brother, Alvin Lincoln of Laona, WI; sister, Gertrude Reed of Alvin, WI; 21 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Roger, grandchildren, Curtis and Cody Devore, and brothers, Levi, Archie, Vernon, and Roger Lincoln. Visitation will be held Monday, May 19, 2014 from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home Interment will be in in the Bates Township Cemetery.
