Margaret A. Rose

Margaret “Peggy” Ann Rose, 93, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. She was born on August 22, 1931, in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of the late Andrew and Gertrude (Conway) Muir. Peggy attended schools in Philadelphia, PA area and graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics and Journalism. On August 23, 1953, she married Donald Rose in Havertown, PA. The couple made their home in Iron River after moving to the area from Park Falls, WI. Donald preceded her in death on March 3, 2003. Peggy was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, St. Agnes Altar Society, Rosary Sodality, St. Agnes Conference of St. Vincent DePaul Secretary and was a volunteer at the St. Vincent Store. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading, birdwatching, playing golf, and bowling. She is survived by two sisters, Trudy Roussin of Syracuse, NY and Mary Elizabeth (Jerry) Barr of Warminster, PA; 13 nieces and nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River with Fr. Daniel Fosu to officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
