Margaret I. Salzeider

Margaret “Marge” I. Salzeider, age 84, of Iron River, MI, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 at U.P. Health System, Marquette, MI. She was born June 29, 1931 in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Walter and Irene (Monhead) Nordstrom. She attended and graduated from Iron River High School. Marge married Reid C. Salzeider on July 1, 1955 in Iron River, and the couple made their home in Lindenhurst, IL. They moved to Iron River in 1989 following Reid’s retirement.  The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2005.  Reid preceded her in death on October 11, 2011. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Iron River. She liked working in her garden, planting flowers and decorating her house. She enjoyed music and loved her dog, Danny. Marge is survived by her son, Michael (Cathy) Salzeider of Lindenhurst, IL; grandson, Matthew (Danielle) Salzeider; Floyd, Marshall, Jim, and Joe; sisters, Joann, Shirley, Karen, and Patsy; nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 31, from 9:00 to 10:45 at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev LaVonne Stephenson to officiate. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Beechwood, MI.
