Marguerite A. Carlson

Marguerite Anne Carlson, 88, lifelong resident of the Iron River area, passed away on May 23, 2016. She was born in Shawano WI on July 11, 1927 to Chalmers and Meta (Wege) McGreaham. She attended area schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School in 1945, and worked in Chicago and Iron River prior to her marriage to Calvin (Bud) Carlson on May 20, 1947. She later worked for many years as bookkeeper for Carlson-Vezzetti Motors. She and Bud celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary in 1997. Marguerite is survived by her daughters Jo Hanson of Orange CA, Duey Bliss of Iron River, and Jan (Steve) Sundelius of Oregon WI; granddaughter Lauren (Nick) Kominitsky of Costa Mesa CA; grandsons Zach Sundelius of Los Angeles CA and Alec (fiancée Quinn Murray) Sundelius of River Falls WI; sister Marianne Hanold of Iron River; brother Chalmers "Buzzer" (Mitzi) McGreaham of Caspian; sister-in-law Jackie McGreaham; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Jill, son Joey, sister Maren Steele, and brother Charles "Chummy" McGreaham. Marguerite loved to spend time with her family, especially summers at their cottage on Hagerman Lake. She was active in ​ ​Girl Scouts with her daughters​, and enjoyed golfing, downhill and cross country skiing, bowling, reading, and entertaining family and friends at the lake. The family is honoring Marguerite's wishes to have a family celebration of her life at Hagerman Lake in lieu of services.
