Marilyn F. Sabol, 74, of Caspian, MI, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Aspirus Hospital in Ironwood, MI. She was born on April 11, 1950, in Stambaugh, MI, the daughter of the late Clifford and LaVerne (Windahl) Marlowe. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the class of 1968. Marilyn married Gary Sabol on April 27, 1974, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. She and Gary owned the Marlowe Gas Company. Marilyn was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. She enjoyed golfing, trips to the casino, cooking, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Gary; sons, Darrin (Sunnie) Sabol of Milwaukee, WI and Kurt (Lisa) Sabol of Heron, MT; grandchildren, Brandon and Alexis Sabol, Alessandro and Angelina Sabol, and Gabriela Brown; great-grandchildren, Sakura and Kenje Brown; brothers, Jerry Marlowe of Iron River, MI, Robert (Ellen) Marlowe of Merril, WI, and Leslie (Mary) Marlowe of Suamico, WI; sisters, Pat (Ray) Atanasoff and Cheryl (Tim) Murillo, both of Iron River, MI; brother-in-law, Bob (Pat) Sabol; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was also preceded in death by her in-laws, John and Irma Sabol; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Edna Mae Sabol; aunts, Rita Marlowe and LaVerne Salo; and uncle, Edward Marlowe. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. A Liturgy of the Word service will follow at 11 a.m. with Deacon Terry Verville to officiate. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery.
