Marlene A. Carmitchell

Marlene Ann Carmitchell, age 82, of Lakewood, WI, passed away Thursday, March 09, 2017, at the Alpha Senior Concepts Assisted Living Facility in Suamico. She was born January 16, 1935, in Tipler, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late John “Jack” and Grace (LaBine) Halada. She graduated from Laona High School and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Carroll University. She was a member of St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Long Lake, Wisconsin. Marlene was a teacher by profession and enjoyed camping, fishing, wood carving and traveling.   Marlene is survived by her daughter, Lisa Carmitchell of Green Bay, WI; sisters, Geraldine (Wayne) Pagel, of Green Bay, WI; JoAnn (Dan) Hannigan of Menominee, MI; brothers, John (Cyndy) Halada, Larry (Linda) Halada of Long Lake, WI; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by sisters, Frances Halada and Jacqueline “Jackie” Halada and brother, Alan Halada. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Brookview Meadows Assisted Living Facility of Howard, WI, Alpha Senior Concepts of Suamico, WI, and Heartland Hospice. Visitation will be held from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church of Long Lake. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Father Felix Penetante to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Long Lake Cemetery, in the spring.
