Martha J. Beauchamp, 94, of Iron River, MI, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Northstar Health System, Iron River. She was born April 4, 1919 in Felch, MI, daughter of the late Victor and Marie (Ayra) Gustafson. She attended the Felch School graduating from Felch High School in 1937. Martha married Francis Beauchamp on May 4, 1940 in Iron River, MI and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1990. Martha was a member of the First Baptist Church and Ladies Aide. She worked in the Church Nursery and with the Adventure Club for many years. She was an avid bowler. Martha was a wonderful gardener. She planted and tended the Senior Citizen garden for 20 years. Martha was a mother and grandmother, always thinking of others first. She was very generous with her time and finances when she saw a need. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis on January 6, 2002; son, Richard; daughter-in-law, Darlene; brothers, Hugo, Emil, John, and a stepbrother, Kenneth; sisters, Senya, Esther, and Sylvia; grandsons, Scott, Robert and Gene, and one great grandchild. She is survived by three sons, Robert Beauchamp of Iron River, Ronald (Karen) Beauchamp of Iron River, and Regan (Becky) Beauchamp of Humboldt, SD; two daughters, Barbara (Robert) Poupore of Quinnesec, MI, and Bonita Schauder of Whitewater, WI; two stepbrothers, Dan and Paul of Ontario, CA; 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and several great, great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Pastor John Fish to officiate. Private family interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River.
