Mary Catherine Hall, age 75, of Iron River, MI, peacefully entered eternal rest Wednesday, February 03, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton, WI. She was born in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Corden) Conlan. She attended and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. Mary entered the U.S. Army in 1958 and served as a Medical Specialist. She later attended nursing school and enjoyed a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 30 years. She married Donald J. Hall of Iron River on March 17, 1960, and the couple traveled extensively while Donald continued his military career. They later made their home in Waterbury, CT, retiring to Iron River in 2003. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in 2005. Donald preceded her in death on March 3, 2006. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, St. Agnes Altar Society, and Connecticut Genealogical Society. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and genealogy. Mary is survived by her children, Rosemary (Jerry) Burns of Appleton, WI, Donald J. (Donna) Hall of Naugatuck, CT, Elizabeth A. Burmeister of Iron River, Catherine F. Hall of Appleton, WI, Margaret M. (Peter) Cipriano of Staatsburg, NY, Edward A. (Melissa) Hall of Fayetteville, NC, and Mary Louise (Paul) Stemen of Hilbert, WI; brothers, Edward “Ned” (Joyce) Conlan of Oakville, CT, and Pierce (Barbara) Conlan of Waterbury, CT; sisters-in-law, Carol Mingia of Greensboro, NC, and Laura Hall of Texas; 19 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. A brief prayer service will follow at 11:00, with Rev. Michael Woempner to officiate. A Funeral Mass will be held in the spring with time and date to be announced. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery of Iron River.
