Mary Jeanne McIntosh died peacefully, of natural causes, on June 26 at her home in Florida. She had celebrated her 99th birthday in March. She was a lifelong member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, where she was the church organist for 40 years. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating in 1939. After graduation, she worked as the secretary in the school office. During this time, she met a young teacher, Andrew McIntosh, who became the love of her life. She and Mac married on October 2, 1946 and celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary prior to his death in June of 2009. Mary Jeanne was a very proud wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her son Andrew (Gerry) McIntosh of Florida, and daughters Jeanne (Larry) Isaacs of Madison, and Ann of Florida. She lived a full and happy life, spending 25 winters on South Padre Island, Texas and more recently in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. She loved to travel, play the piano, knit, read, and was always ready for a good card game (especially Bridge). She will always be remembered standing at the door of her home with a beautiful, warm and welcoming smile, ready to make you feel right at home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 12pm at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River, MI with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to officiate.
