Mary Pisoni

Mary Pisoni, age 100, of Iron River, MI, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Iron River Care Center in Iron River. Mary was born January 17, 1917 in Caspian, MI, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Folino) Fittante. She graduated from Stambaugh High School with the Class of 1937. She married Leo H. Pisoni on June 18, 1949 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, and the couple were lifelong residents of Mineral Hills. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in 2012. Leo preceded her in death on February 23, 2013. Mary was also preceded in death by her brother, Louis Fittante, and sisters, Violet Nelson, and Camille Perlongo. Mary was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, and the St. Agnes Altar Society. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, who was well known for her incredible Italian cooking, which brought great delight to so many. Mary especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enjoying many exciting games of Bingo. Mary is survived by her sons, Gary (Dawn) Pisoni of Iron River, and Ronald (Linda Phillips) Pisoni of Ypsilanti, MI; brother, Tony (Patricia) Fittante of Escanaba, MI; five grandchildren, Gina, Joseph, Adrienne, Deanna, and Vincent; seven great grandchildren, Sebastian, Luisa, Marion, Raven, and Oliver, Daphne and Gideon. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, with Rev.
