Mavis C. Hansen, age 80, of Caspian, MI, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. She was born on June 18, 1938 in Stambaugh, MI, the daughter of the late Melvin and Cecelia (Husar) Clements. She attended the Caspian and Stambaugh Schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School with the Class of 1957. Over the years she was employed at Aramark in Caspian, Mirro Aluminum Company in Manitowoc, WI, and also worked as a daycare provider. She attended St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers, crocheting, and spending time with her sisters and grandchildren, who were her life. Her famous pasties will be missed. Mavis is survived by her daughter, Carol (Blaine) Rivard of Gaastra, MI; sons, Vernon (Suzie) Hansen of Marquette, MI, Peter (Jenny) Hansen of West Virginia, Jody (Erin) Hansen of Iron River, MI, Ryan (Kaycee) Zimmerman of Iron River, MI, and Keith Hansen of West Virginia; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; sisters, Shirley Carlson, Lucille LaFountain, Harriet (Larry) Aschenbach, all of Iron River, MI, Jackie Carter of Greenleaf, WI, and Terry (Mark) Rivard of Gaastra, MI; and sister-in-law, Betty Clements of Caspian; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Harry Clements and brothers-in-law, Melvin Carlson, Richard LaFountain, and Eugene Carter. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 9:30 to 11:00am at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. A Prayer Service will follow at 11am with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to officiate. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery in the spring.
