Max Margoni Jr.

Max Margoni Jr. Age 94 Caspian, MI Died Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Northstar Heath System in Iron River, MI. He was born on March 7, 1918 in Caspian, the son of the late Max and Alice (Tessadri) Margoni attended the Stambaugh schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School with the Class of 1934. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the European African Middle Eastern Theater and was awarded both a Silver Star and a Bronze Star Medal. Max married the former Lillian Lamminen on July 10, 1946 in Gaastra, MI and the couple made their home in Caspian. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in 2001. Lillian preceded him in death. Max was employed as a carpenter by the Proksch Lumber Company for many years. He was a member of the local Carpenters Union. Max was an avid deer hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed working in his garage and playing cards, especially smear and cribbage. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Russell John Margoni and his brother Angelo Margoni. He is survived by two sons, Dennis (Carol) Margoni of Iron River Don (JoAnn) Margoni of St. Joseph, MI Two brothers, Felix Margoni of Caspian Danny Margoni of Caspian Four grandchildren, Dana, Michael, Jessa, and Nathan Great grandson, Rhys Calderwood Nieces, nephews, and extended family Private family services will be held.
