Melvin G. Peterson

Melvin Peterson, age 53 of Iron River, MI, died Sunday, August 9, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, WI. Born: February 24, 1956 in Stambaugh, MI The son of the late Lloyd and Muriel (Camps) Peterson was a lifelong resident of the area. He attended the West Iron schools, graduating in 1975. He was employed as a tree trimmer for Asplundh Tree Expert Company for many years. He met the love of his life, Faith Faries, in 1983 and the couple made their home in Bates Township on the Paint River. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, tinkering in his garage on tractors and trucks, and fishing trips to Montana. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Peterson. He is survived by his wife, Faith Two sons; Jason (Robin) Giuliani of Iron River Gene (Jackie) Giuliani of Crystal Falls One daughter, Amy (Craig) Tarsi of Iron River Two brothers; Randy (Lilo) Peterson of Issaquah, WA Doug (Susan) Peterson of Coleman, WI Six grandchildren; Sheena, Justine, Austin, Kevin, Nico and Vic Nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family Visitation: Friday, August 14, 2009 from 2:30 to 4:45 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Service: Friday, August 14, 2009 at 5 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River, with Soren Schmidt of Fortune Lake Bible Camp to celebrate his life.
