Michael T. Schwartz

Michael T. Schwartz, age 71, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, MI. He was born on March 31, 1951, in Aurora, IL, the son of the late Marcus and Eva (Freeman) Schwartz. Michael attended the Aurora Schools, graduating from Aurora Central High School with the class of 1969. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was employed as a machinist. Michael was a member of The American Legion Reino Post 21 and a member of the West Side Honor Guard. He enjoyed watching and attending auto racing, hunting and target shooting, and was a Chicago Bears fan. Michael is survived by his daughter, Jessica Kirmo of Freeland, WA; brothers, James (Caroline) Schwartz of Aurora, IL, Mark (Dorothy) Schwartz of West Chicago, IL, and Steven Schwartz of Aurora, IL; sisters, Marcia Chouinard of Cary, IL, Cheryl Walker of Lockport, IL, and Eva (Barry) Benson of Newark, TX; two grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Peter, Richard, and John Schwartz and sister, Margo Olson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date.
