Michael D. Stella

Michael David Stella, 56, Milwaukee, WI, formerly of Iron River, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013. He was born March 21, 1957 in Stambaugh, MI, son of Connie (Mangone) Stella and the late Sam Stella. Michael attended the West Iron County Schools, graduating with the Class of 1976. He attended the Northern Michigan Skill Center. He was employed as a Machine Operator for 35 years in the Milwaukee area. Michael was a Packer fan and loved sports and antique cars. His quick wit, story telling and great sense of humor was enjoyed by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends in Milwaukee, WI and the local area. Michael is survived by his mother, Connie Stella of Iron River; brothers, John Stella of Kingsley, Kansas and James Stella of Iron River; sisters, Susie (Ron) Kriehn and Patricia (Wayne) Taylor of Waukesha, WI; aunts, Rose M. (William) Johnson of Iron River, Genevieve (Frank) Czaplewski of West Allis, WI; uncle, David (Phylliss) Mangone; nieces and nephews, Natalie, Nicole and Vincent Stella of Kansas City, Kristy Yates of Waukesha, WI, Jesse and Angela Taylor of Waukesha, WI; great nieces, Hailey and Savannah Stella of Kansas, and Mackenzie Taylor of Milwaukee; numerous cousins and extended family; special friends Phil (Bonnie) Merideth and Bonnie Ponnozzo, and many friends in the local and Milwaukee areas. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Sam; grandparents, Pasquale and Susie Pangrazzi and Paul and Carmela Mangone; aunts, Violet (Tom) Groppi, Antonette (Norman) Jacobson; uncles, Dan (Lorraine) Mangone and Michael Mangone. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, with Rev. Gregory Veneklase, Pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
