Mildred “Millie” Marie Rometti, age 84, of Stambaugh, MI, passed away, February 13, 2016. Millie was born April 24, 1931 in Stambaugh, the daughter of the late Emilo and Elvira (Dalessandri) Biondi and was a lifelong resident of the area. She attended Stambaugh Schools, graduating with the Class of 1949. Millie married Rolland “Rollie” Rometti on August 26, 1950 in Caspian, MI. Rollie preceded her in death on June 4, 2014. Millie’s legacy was that of a giving, compassionate, kind woman. Her biggest joys were her children, grandchildren and their families. Millie and Rollie were regulars in the ‘stands’ during school activities. She cherished her Rometti Girls weekends where all unwound, shared stories, played games, and sometimes drank a few too many long island iced tea! It is unanimous in that NO ONE will hug like you hug – you may be small in stature but your strength is undeniable as you hugged with your whole body, a full on squeeze that transfers love straight from your heart center to another. Because of the love you have given your grandchildren and their families they will be very successful, caring, good and loving people. Thank you and please have the tick-tac’s and red hots waiting for us. Millie is survived by her children, Sandy (Bill) Lasich of Manistique, MI, Julie Llewellyn of Neenah, WI and Mark (Lauri) Rometti of Eau Claire, WI; sister Victoria “Vickie” Broslavick of Gaastra, MI. Grandchildren Debbie Marks, Amy (Ron) Gould, Mike (Amy) Kraatz, Robert (Alisha) Llewellyn, Brynn (Justin) Boyd, Tony (Jordan) Rometti, Jessica Rometti and Ryan Rometti. Great-grandchildren, Malauri and Tessa Marks, Chad Gould, Chelsea (Brandon) Brown, Jacob Gould, Logan and Madison Kraatz, Claire and Dusty Boyd, and Beckam Rometti. Great great grandchildren, Ramsey Palmer, Hazel Outlaw, Deng Madding, Aleeah, Ava and Aubree Brown. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert “Bobby” Biondi, son-in-law, Robert “Dusty” Llewellyn, and granddaughter, Demi Evelyn Llewellyn. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m with Rev. George Maki to officiate. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be sent to the family in care of the Jacobs Funeral Home, 405 West Cayuga Street, Iron River, MI 49935
