Milton E. Anderson, 85, of Iron River, MI, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at his home. He was born June 5, 1927 to Godfrey and Clara (Ende) Anderson. He attended the last class of the Pioneer School (which is now located at the Iron County Museum) and graduated from Stambaugh High School with the Class of 1944. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946. Milton 's early years of employment was at sawmills and in construction. He was the Draftsman and Designer for Four Seasons Structures of Phelps, WI for eight years. He then worked for First American Homes of Shawano, WI before retirement. He loved to hunt and fish, and had a keen interest in wildlife art. He obtained his Certificate of Graduation from Art Instruction of Minneapolis, MN in Commercial Design. Milton won the Best of Show in the first West Iron County Art Show with his colored pencil sketches of wildlife. For a number of years, he had a ceramic shop, making molds and castings of souvenir items and also making molds for other shops in the Midwest. He enjoyed designing and fabricating metal products and had a patent on a slide miter saw. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roy, and sister, Beatrice Rivard and Goldine Baumgartner. Milton is survived by his brother, Baynard Anderson of Iron River, sisters, Lillian (James) Goodhall of Kenosha, WI, and Lydia (Bob) Sipper of Green Bay, WI, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, June 7, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bonny Kinnunen to officiate. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery. The West Iron County Veterans will accord Military Rites at the graveside.
