Myrtle B. Winton

Myrtle B. Winton, age 89 of Iron River, MI died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the Northstar Health System, Iron River. Born: October 31, 1919 in Stambaugh, MI The daughter of the late Antone and Clara (Mathesion) Westerdahl attended the Iron River schools. She married Earl A. Winton in June, 1943 and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. Earl preceded her in death in 1976. Myrtle worked for several years at the Iron River Senior Citizen Center. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting and crocheting. She was also preceeded in death by four brothers, Arthur, Milton, Marvin, and David and three sisters, Irene, Alice, and Dolores. She is survived by two sons; Shannon (Esther) Winton of Stuarts Draft, VA William ""Bill"" (Debbi) Winton of Iron Mountain, MI One sister, Hazel (Lloyd) Winton of Iron River Three grandchildren; William, Christine, and Shelley Three great grandchildren; Brittany, Adam, and Courtney Nieces and nephews Visitation: Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Service: Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River with Pastor Bonny Kinnunen of the First Lutheran Church to officiate.
