Nancy Beber

Nancy Beber, 79, of Iron River, MI, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 at her home.She was born June 19, 1934 in Wakefield, MI, the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Dahlin) Hagland. She attended the Wakefield Schools, graduating from Wakefield High School with the Class of 1952. She then attended and graduated from the University of Michigan Nursing School in 1956. She was employed as a Registered Nurse and taught at several Hospitals in the Upper Peninsula.  She retired after a lengthy career as a Registered Nurse from Iron County General Hospital.Nancy married Thomas K Beber on  August 16, 1958 in Wakefield, and they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year.        She was active at the Senior Citizen Center, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and knitting. She especially loved her dogs.  Nancy is survived by her husband, Thomas; sons, Steven Beber of Minneapolis, MN, and Patrick (Kim) Beber of Grand Haven, MI; daughters, Tracy (Patrick) Lyons of New Hyde Park, NY, and Jenifer (Brian) Gallager of Elliott, MD; brother, Lew Bordeaux of Spain; and seven granddaughters.She was preceded in death by her brother Jack Hagland and sister, June Hagland.Visitation will be held Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Gathering Room at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River.Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, with Rev. Gregory Veneklase, Pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield, MI in the spring.
