Olga A. Groop, age 96 of Iron River, MI, died Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the Iron River Care Center, Iron River. Born: June 17, 1913 in Iron River, MI The daughter of the late Steve and Anna (Vidas) Todey attended the Stambaugh schools and graduated. She was employed by F.W. Means and Nolingberg Bakery. Olga married William ""Bill"" Groop on June 4, 1940 in Crystal Falls, and the couple made their home in Crystal Falls, moving to Iron River in 1954. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1990. Bill preceded her in death on August 22, 1996. Olga was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River and St. Agnes Altar Society. An avid reader, she also enjoyed crocheting and fishing, especially trout fishing. She was also preceded in death by two sons, William and Michael Groop, two brothers, Emil and Thomas Today and sister Sophie. She is survived by one son, Steve Bicigo of Mountain, WI Three daughters; Mary Jane (Ted) Ridolphi of Iron River Elsie Schroder of Dearborn Heights, MI Ann Bicigo Luckow of Kingsford, MI Brother, Robert Today of Gurnee, IL Sister, Mary Fremarek of Columbus, NE 20 grandchildren 30 Great grandchildren One Great, great grandchild Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family Visitation: Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Gathering Room of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River Funeral Service: Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River, with Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment: Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls, MI Funeral arrangements by the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River.
