Patricia A. Strong

Patricia A. Strong, 82, of Marquette, MI, formerly of Iron River, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at U.P. Health System-Marquette. She was born October 6, 1932 in Elkhart, IN, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Grace (Yeakey) Neff. She attended the Elkhart Schools. Patricia married Gary D. Strong on January 14, 1950 in Elkhart, IN, and the couple celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in 2014. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Poplar Bluff, MO, and former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Iron River. She enjoyed camping, walking, playing cards, gardening, and loved canning tomatoes and baking cookies. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Gary on May 24, 2014, three great grandchildren, brother, Ralph “Bud” Neff, and sister, Joan Dinehart. She is survived by her children, Michael (Kathy Smith) Strong of Oconto, WI, Christine Lanska of Virginia, MN, Betty (Mark Paszkiewcz) Crowgey of Green Bay, WI, Douglas (Laurie) Strong of Foster City, MI, and Janice Sorelle of Marquette, MI; brother, John (Bonnie) Neff of Elkhart, IN; sisters, Phyllis (Russ) Thompson of Crawfordsville, IN, Kay Tusing of Culver, IN, and Mary (Richard) Golden of Elkhart, IN; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be held Friday, February 13, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River and Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at with Rev. Steve Hulke to officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery in the spring.
