Patrick E. Ward

Patrick “Pat” E. Ward of Gaastra, MI, passed away at Marquette General Hospital on Friday, October 2, 2015. He was born August 23, 1948 in Gaastra to the late Thomas and Nydia (King) Ward. Pat attended school in Stambaugh and graduated from Stambaugh High School. Although his health was compromised by the diagnosis of Diabetes from the age of 18 months, he served as County Commissioner, representing Caspian, Gaastra and Stambaugh Township. He remained interested in county politics and the well-being of the county throughout his life. Pat was especially proud of the years he served as a Friend of the Court in Crystal Falls. Due to failing health, Pat had been a resident of the Crystal Manor Nursing Home for the past ten years. The family is grateful to the nursing staff for the care he received during those years. He is survived by his brothers, Dale (Barbara) Ward Sr. of Iron Mountain, MI, Michael (Donna) Ward of Point Aquarius, Texas, and Dennis (Betty Lou) Ward of Arizona, several cousins, nieces and nephews, and a special friend at Crystal Manor Nursing Home, Dick. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Garold and his wife Marlene (Melchiori) Ward, and his sister Carol and her husband Carl Nelson. According to Pat’s wishes, there will be no service.
