Phyllis A. Olsen, 79, of Stambaugh Township, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Northstar Health System of Iron River. She was born February 27, 1934 in Gaastra, MI, the daughter of the late Stanley and Agnes (Niklas) Nowicki. She attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School with the Class of 1952. Phyllis married William Olsen on October 10, 1953 at St. Mary 's Catholic Church and the couple owned and operated a beef farm in Stambaugh Township. William passed away on May 6, 1997. Phyllis continued maintaining the farm with her grandson, Colton Pangrazzi. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, St. Anne 's Society, the Iron County Fair Board, the FSA Board, and 4-H member. She holds a special place in many people 's hearts. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Frank and John Nowicki, sister, Rosalie Muto, and very special friend, Chester Kudwa. Phyllis is survived by her son, Eugene (Michele) Olsen of Pound, WI; daughter, Cathy (Dan) Pangrazzi of Caspian; grandson, Colton Pangrazzi of Caspian; sister, Helen Christofferson of Payson, AZ; nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held Monday, September 9, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian with Rev. Gregory Veneklase, Pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The ladies of St. Anne 's Society will form an Honor Guard at the service. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.
