Randall G. Hughes

Randall G. Hughes, age 70, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, MI. He was born on June 11, 1953, in Torrence, CA, the son of the late Harold and Esther (Tozier) Hughes. Randall was a U.S. Army veteran. Randall married Elizabeth Snow on May 8, 2021 in Cresco, IA. He was employed as an airport mechanic. Randall was a member of the UP River Church and The American Legion Reino Post #21. He enjoyed writing and composing music, poetry, and playing guitar. Randall was an avid fisherman and enjoyed time spent fishing with his father, brothers, and best friend, Mike Gossman. He loved being out in nature and also enjoyed golfing. Randall loved the Lord and was a passionate Christian who had a real heart for people. Randall is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry, Roger, Donald, and Jim Hughes. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home Inc. of Iron River. Funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor James Pellizzer to officiate. Interment will be on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
