Raymond K. Belunes, age 94, of Popple River, WI, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Oscar G. Johnson V.A. Medical Center. He was born February 5, 1923 in West Bend, WI, the son of the late Alex and Mary Belunes. He attended the Holy Angels Catholic School in West Bend, WI. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He was a foreman at the West Bend Aluminum Company, a farmer and owner of the Sportsman Inn located in Long Lake, WI. Raymond was a member of St. Norbert Catholic Church in Long Lake and the American Legion in Iron River. He also served as Popple River Town Chairman for many years and was one of the main supporters of Packerland Bear Hunters Association. He enjoyed gardening, wine making, cutting firewood, canning, and socializing. Raymond loved and appreciated the outdoors and delighted in watching wildlife and nature. Raymond is survived by his son, Doug (June) Belunes of Kaukauna, WI; daughters, Karen Graff of Appleton, WI, Leslie (Mike) Hofer of Merton, WI, Connie (Bill) Moore of Appleton, WI; brother, Eugene Belunes of West Bend, WI; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by Bernice Belunes, the mother of his children, son, Kenneth Belunes, son-in-law, Eugene Graff, three brothers, and four sisters. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at St. Norbert Catholic Church in Long Lake, WI. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon with Rev. Felix Penetante and Rev. John Cerkas will con-celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the service. Interment will be in Long Lake Cemetery.
