Rena I. Yackel

Rena I. Yackel, age 87 of Caspian, MI died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at her home. Born: July 2, 1921 in Stambaugh, MI The daughter of the late Virgilio and Rose (Persanto) Ghiotto attended the Caspian and Stambaugh schools. Rena married Henry Yackel and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. Henry preceded her in death on September 28, 1987. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, St. Anne's Society, the Daughters of Isabella, the Rosary Sodality, and a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She liked to cook and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her brother Reno Ghiotto in 1984 and sister, Mary Sleeman in 2006. She is survived by her son, Terry Yackel of Iron River Daughter, Karen Yackel of North Holmstead, OH Brother, Bruno (Ann Marie) Ghiotto of Gaastra, MI Three grandchildren; Chris, Craig, and Chad Yackel Memorial services will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian at a later date, with the date and time to be announced.
