Richard Arnell

Richard ""Sach"" Arnell, 75, of Iron River, MI, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Northstar Health System of Iron River. He was born August 25, 1938 in Iron River, MI, son of the late Lester C. and Blanche B. (Richards) Arnell. He attended the Iron River Schools, graduating from Iron River High School with the Class of 1957. Sach married the former Lisa Ferguson on June 7, 1997 in Kenosha, WI, and the couple made their home in Iron River. He was a member of the West Iron District Fire Department, Ducks Unlimited, the Tavern League of Wisconsin, and lifetime member of the Elks Lodge. He was also a former Iron River City Commisioner. Sach was self-employed in construction for many years, owned and operated the High Sacheral in Stambaugh for several years, and in 1994 he bought Sach 's Rendezvous of Tipler, WI, which he owned and operated to the present day. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Lester C. Arnell Jr. Sach is survived by his wife, Lisa; sons, Paul and Rick Peterson of California; sisters, Donalda Ann Hammersmith of Milwaukee, WI, and Dr. Ellen Arnell-Marcell of Escanaba, MI; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Members of the West Iron County Firemen 's Association will pay their respects with a walk-through at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home. Pastor Dawn Treado-Green will officiate. Pallbearers are Larry Peters, Jim LaRock, Ollie Putz, Mark Gasperini, Art Flancher, and Mike Henschel. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
